CBlocal is a group within Crossbridge that organizes our local outreach opportunities. All of our activities will be in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area and will focus on loving people who are in need- whether they are homeless, foster children, lonely senior citizens, children & adults with special needs, families with financial hardships, or anyone going through a difficult time. Our goal is to embody what it says in John 13:35:

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

Upcoming Projects:

Thank you so much to everyone who donated and helped with our Easter basket drive last month! We were able to make almost 30 baskets for local families & we had leftover goodies to help with Angels of God’s Easter program as well! Also, big thanks to all who helped the past 3 months with the homeless ministry in Camden! Bethesda church in Swedesboro also does sandwich making & delivering to Camden in the warmer months. I will let you know of future opportunities to help with this ministry.

Friends Village Nursing Home Visits

Come help us spread love and cheer to the residents of the Friends Village Nursing home in Woodstown, NJ.  Children are welcomed and encouraged to attend, as long as they are not sick. This is a great way for the whole family to serve together. Our next visit will be Monday May 28th at 10 a.m. Please contact Katie Halpin for more details & to RSVP for this event.

Together We Rise

We are currently fundraising until May 23rd for “Sweet Cases” for Together We Rise, an organization that helps children entering foster care. Every $25 raised buys a child entering foster care a duffel bag, stuffed animal, blanket, grooming kit, & coloring book with crayons. Many people don’t know that often children carry their belongings with trash bags when moving from home to home. At the end of the fundraiser, these bags are decorated, filled & distributed to the Gloucester county DCP&P office. Crossbridge helped us decorate & fill 95 bags last year, and we’d love your help to make this year even more! You can donate using this webpage – Together We Rise. Thank you for supporting this great ministry!

Blessing Bags for the Homeless

Sunday May 20th at 6:30 pm and Monday June 18th at 6:30 pm, we will be getting together at Katie Halpin’s house to make “blessing bags” for the homeless. These large ziplock bags will include men’s tube socks, chapstick, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, hand sanitizer, tissues, & a prepackaged snack (granola bars, chips, cookies, etc). Unforgotten Haven asks that each time we volunteer for this outreach, we create at least 50 bags, so we could use a lot of help with donations! Sample size shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste & deodorant are perfect to fit in these bags. Kids are welcome & encouraged to attend and help! Please RSVP to Katie Halpin,  please let us know what items you can bring when you attend as well. If you can’t attend but would like to donate, please let us know what you will donate. Thank you CB family!

Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is a wonderful organization that provides meals to local senior citizens who are homebound get a hot meal & a visit from a friendly face that day. Several of our CBLocal members have recently gone to volunteer training to assist in this ministry, and they can always use more help! If you’d like to get involved with this ministry, please contact Teresa Christoff to volunteer or get more information. This is a great opportunity and only requires once a month commitment for about 2 hours.

Please follow our CBlocal page on Facebook for all up to date information.

CBglobal is in its infancy stages at Crossbridge. We’ve sent teams to the Dominican Republic, Uganda, France, Nepal, & are developing a relationship with the CM&A in the Middle East. This is all fueled by Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:18-20 to go and make disciples.
