This is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 to 99! It includes an opportunity for respite, relaxation, and fun for their caregivers too!
...What makes Night to Shine so special?
Night to Shine is one night a year where the focus is on celebrating our guests and letting them know how much they are loved and valued by God and others. It provides a unique prom experience for people with special needs who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend such an event.
...Do the guests have to pay to attend?
NO! This event is completely free for the guests and their caregivers, thanks to the generous support from the community and local businesses.
...What makes Night to Shine so special?

What is it like for a guest?
When guests arrive, their king or queen of the prom experience begins! They’ll be greeted, checked in, and paired with a volunteer buddy who ensures they have a great time, feel comfortable, and stay safe. Guests receive a corsage or boutonniere and walk the red carpet into an unforgettable prom night filled with dinner, dancing, and exciting activities.
...What activities will there be for guests and their buddies?
Guests can enjoy dinner, dancing, pictures, sensory activities, quiet spaces, shoe shining, hairdressing, and more.
...What do guests wear?
Guests can wear prom dresses or suits, or whatever they feel comfortable in. Salon Bridgette offers free dresses for our Queens, and Men's Wearhouse provides a discount on rentals for our Kings.

Guests can enjoy dinner, dancing, pictures, sensory activities, quiet spaces, shoe shining, hairdressing, and more.
...What do guests wear?
Guests can wear prom dresses or suits, or whatever they feel comfortable in. Salon Bridgette offers free dresses for our Queens, and Men's Wearhouse provides a discount on rentals for our Kings.
Will volunteers get training?
Yes, all volunteers must attend a two-hour training session in January. You'll be able to choose the date and time that works best for you when you register.
...What is the time commitment?
Volunteers need to attend a two-hour training session in January. On the day of the prom, volunteers will need to arrive by 3 PM and stay until after the event ends at 7 PM. (Set-up crew and check-in teams will have different times, which their leads will communicate.)
...What do I wear?
Buddies should dress for prom in formal or semi-formal attire. All other volunteers will wear the provided volunteer t-shirt, black pants, and comfortable shoes.
